Celebration of Thanksgiving Day:
Thanksgiving Day is celebrated to thank for the harvest and other blessings of the past year. It is meant to pay gratitude for the year that has passed and welcome the new year with joy. It has some religious value in earlier times, but now it has become more of a secular day that is celebrated without the consideration of religions, caste, and creed.
Thanksgiving is celebrated by spending time with family members and friends and being thankful for the people and things in life. Typically, it is celebrated all around the world by having a big meal. Almost all family members are invited.
While planning your Thanksgiving Day, you can make a list of all the family members and friends beforehand so no one lefts behind at the last moment. Call them to be sure of their presence because they may have some other plans to celebrate this day. You can assign each member a dish that he/she will bring with him/her for your convenience. But do keep in mind that the turkey needs to be served by the host only.
In the US, this day is celebrated by arranging a large feast and thanking everyone before starting with it. It creates a healthy and joyous environment. Turkey holds the central place in the meal and, other components include corn, Hot Chocolate, Ham, Pie, and much more. The family may break the turkey wishbone during the meal and, whoever receives the larger end of the turkey is granted a wish.
