History of Candle Day:

If we trace back the history of candles’ day, it began around one hundred and sixty years ago. It was the time when Pope Pius IX made distinct as dogma Virgin Mary’s Immaculate Conception. He published it as `Ineffabilis Deus’ as an Apostolic constitution. The people loved this spiritual idea at that time. They were so excited about it and to celebrate this big decision that lit candles and paper lanterns. This was a sign of support and love for this fantastic idea.

The Catholic Church loved this style of celebration and expression of support. In 1854, the Catholic Church made this idea a national sign of the expression of support. Since that day, candles day has been celebrated on the first Saturday of December every year.
